"... that I had to try to create the same feeling in my work. Many months afterwards I realized that the dream process was an act of healing: after a decade of interviewing and working with victims of horrific conflict and trying to honestly honour and share their stories in my art, the burden of the inhumanity that the victim’s experienced and shared was taking a toll on my own wellbeing. The dream was the antidote, a beautiful balance to the ugliness. Global crisis fills our newscasts: environmental, economic, cultural and of late, incomprehensible violence. I believe we need, more than ever, to rediscovery the concept of 'playfulness' and to find a place of peace in beauty."
